I ran down the street readying myself for another hard blow from Doctor Decibel and his sonic wave cannon. He was in a hovercraft, and he was a short, white bearded, and thick black glasses that looked like a blind man would use. "Invisiblegirl you don't stand a chance this time!" The doctor hissed aloud.
I phased myself out of sight and hid behind a pole to catch my breath. When my head turned to see if he was looking I could see him. His head turned once away from me, and turned again and smiled. "There you are you little brat nothing gets past my heat seeking glasses!" He announced and his shrill laugh rang in my head as he spoke into his super sonic microphone.
I covered my ears and he pointed his gun at me and shot. I lifted my hands up projecting my force field and the blast reaction threw me to land on my back. I summersaulted backwards back on my feet still managing to stay invisible. I threw my fists at my sides and punched forward seeing my purple force field hit him square in the hovercraft pushing it back, but no damage was done.
I frowned at the failure and I decided to take it at a different approach I just have to make sure he doesn't see me. I looked around seeing my options, and I saw a half destroyed car, and I ran towards it. "Oh no you don't!" He hissed and blew his cannon to make the car go for a mother holding her baby.
I dived in font of them phasing back into image, and projected my force field again. The car was right on top of us, and the mother as shaking next to me. I made my field arc, but the car wouldn't move. It was square on us, and if there was any other angle it would smash us. The car continued to get heavy on my arms, and I almost gave out when out of nowhere the car lost weight and floated above me. Then came floating by was Zero, his hair shined in the sun as his hands held the very weight of the car. He didn't say anything which surprised me a little bit, but I was happy that he was here. He wasn't very built, but he still had a bit of body on him. His hands moved almost gracefully as the car flew at Doctor Decibel, as he muttered, "oh shi...." Before he finished his sentence the car collided with him. Sending him right into a building. The craft crashed back into the earth and I ran up not knowing whether or not he was following me or not. Doctor Decibel almost made his escape before I threw him down to the ground with my force field. His body was pinned to the ground, and Zero was next to me staring at him almost disinterested in the fact that he beat him. His mask covered his eyes like me, and he had no cape.
"Thanks," I replied quietly wondering if he would reply or not.
"Any time," he replied and took a quick glance at me, and returned it back at Doctor Decibel as if making sure he doesn't escape.
"You know that you can leave I have this," I said, and stared back at the Doctor.
"It's alright I helped anyways so I might as well stick around," he said, "even though the reporters are annoying." He replied unemotional.
"You are not much of a character are you?" I asked knowing it was a rude question.
"Not really, but I like to help," he agreed with her.
"So I guess that your name can be part of your mood then," I replied.
"So you are saying that I have zero personality?"
"Well I don't know, I'll just shut up now," I replied and bit my lip.
His quizzical expression remained when I looked at him from my peripheral vision, and when I looked back up at him. The police came up, and handcuffed him a few minutes later. "Thanks to you two we can put away this maniac for life!" he said happily and tipped his hat at us.
Reporters crowded around us, and Zero smiled a little bit. "ZERO, ZERO, ZERO!" the reporters shouted at him.
"Yes," he replied, and I turned around with a pen and photo of me in my hand as I finished signing for a fan. I passed it back to him, and I turned around to answer the questions, if I were to get any.
"Was it difficult to beat the man responsible for bombing the music hall?"
"I have to admit it really wasn't after Invisiblegirl right here has tired him out."
I almost frowned realizing that he was downplaying me.
"INVISIBLEGIRL!"
"Yes," I replied.
"Did you think you had a chance to beat him after Zero came into picture?"
"Yes I would've, but I was caught in a pickle when he came in at the time."
"What was your pickle?"
"I was holding up a car with my force field trying to protect a mother and child,"I replied, "It wouldn't move when I tried to move it out of the way." I finished.
"A new poll says that the people want to see you two work together more. What do you two think about that?"
I raised my eyebrow wondering how news or such polls moved about that quickly.
Zero didn't reply really much either.
I looked towards him wondering if he would reply at all.
I sighed and I spoke, "well if we both happen to get ourselves in the same situation again that will be when we will fight together," I replied almost in a harsh tone.
Zero only nodded in in agreement.
"So are you two going to be competitors now?" a reporter asked and raised his recorder to our faces.
"That's for the public to decide on," Zero said waved his hand goodbye, and ascended into the air.
I decided to take my leave too and became invisible once again. I ran into an alleyway hearing the TV news vans rumbling on to life. I found a ladder and started to climb. I soon found myself on top of a building and I sat at the edge of it. I phased back into picture, and sighed. He thinks I am a mediocre super and he has the press thinking that too now. I stood up, and officially and said it to my self. He is an arrogant son of a bitch, and could care less about what other people think. I turned towards Zach's apartment building and I realized the time.
I smiled and jumped myself off the building and clicked the button on my wrist. My car zoomed under me, and I landed in the driver seat. I pressed the red button and the car began to undress me, and the car itself changed shape and color. I drove out of the alleyway and speed on towards his apartment building. Today I was supposed to be there a three helping to get rid of some of his extra junk.
