This is it! The moment where my life will change forever! My heart felt heavy as my father placed the veil over my face. I bit my lip carefully and began to pray in my mind to Ta Min and all the other Lady Spirits to help me get through this. "Toph I thought this moment would never come, but you have picked the perfect man I must say," my father told me and hugged me. I hugged him back as his hand pressed against the back of my head for me to rest on his shoulder. "Don't be nervous because this will only last about twenty minutes or even less. I bet right now Aang is just as nervous as you are," he finished and let me go. I smiled and received hugs from my mother and friends. I found Sokka and I gave a smug smile.
I couldn't stop pacing in my room; waiting to get the call to come out. I was so nervous that I waiting would only make it worst. I wasn't nervous for being married I was nervous to see her. I was excited to get this over with as well, and the rest of the night would be smooth sailing from there. "Hey Aang get you butt out of here you have an altar to attend to!" Sokka shouted through my door. I took in a deep breath and exited out of the door. Then out of nowhere I felt a huge pain in my arm. "Toph's orders she said to snap you back I had to punch you," Sokka said laughing.
"Sokka when the time is right I'll get you, but today I am saying thanks I needed that," I replied and grinned.
"No problem buddy now lets get moving before the guests start leaving!" He replied and began walking off.
I sighed happily and ran off after him.
When Sokka told Toph the news she smiled, and hugged him. "Thanks for taking care of his nerves," I said and let him go.
"Hey it's all in a good days work I say," he replied, and grabbed Suki's waist.
"Toph you look so pretty I know Aang will just burst when he sees you walking down," Suki complimented.
"But he already saw me in my dress," Toph replied looking down trying to remember what her dress looked like.
"I know, but it'll be different because he will actually be looking at you."
"What do you mean?" Toph asked.
"He wasn't really looking at you when he saw you," Suki replied happily.
"Huh?"
"What Suki means Toph is that he didn't stare at your dress or anything he was only looking at your eyes, which I think is a difficult thing for anyone to do." Katara answered.
"But at the Spirit would he looked at my dress, and everything, and when he found out I was pregnant!"
"He was still looking at your eyes Toph, he may have accidentally seen your dress once, but I think he was trying to save himself up as much as possible. Trust me Toph he has never really seen your dress. He even told me yesterday that if anything were to occur, which it has, that he'll do everything possible to not see your dress, which again he really hasn't." Katara replied and hugged her to gain confidence. She handed Toph the bouquet of flowers, and her father took her arm. "In positions everyone we have a wedding to attend to!" Katara shouted, and everyone began to scramble around the father and bride, as they settled in their positions. Fist in the line that went out was Duchess May Lu whom was believed to be the future bride of the little Prince Sun. But Toph began to think if it would be better for her probable future daughter to marry Sun instead of May Lu. May Li held the tiny basket in her hands and she walked off throwing flowers on the ground.
Katara leaned in close to Zuko's ear, and whispered, "I think if they have a daughter we have her matched up with Sun!"
"If the council will allow it other than that I wouldn't mind that much at all since this girl is a little bratty."
"So it's a deal then?"
"Yes, I'll talk to Aang about it later for now lets just enjoy the wedding and forget politics for once," Zuko replied and smiled realizing it was his first real day off without politics to deal with.
Toph hugged her father's arm as her mother began to walk down with Prince Sun as the ring bearer. Then went down the Bride's maid, and finally Maid of honor and the Best man went down. The room was silent except for the music. Then the classic bride music came into the air, as Lao whispered, "here we go," he said happily and they began taking the slow two step.
There Toph was so elegant and so beautiful. Her body as if carved by the holy spirits themselves. They were walking almost too slow for him to handle much longer. The crowds stare was in amazement and wonder as the blind girl walked down the aisle.
Toph closed her eyes and almost shuddered hearing the mysterious voice, "It is you wedding Lady Toph, and we all want to give you the gift to at least see it!" Toph opened her eyes and smiled seeing the world around her, but her earthbending was still intact her feel everyone's emotions. " We'd give it to you all night, but we only have enough power to give it to you by the time you kiss the Avatar so enjoy, and we give you are most utter regard for today and may you live long and happy with him as we did as well!" the voices finished, and she sighed happily. It was something Toph have always wanted as a little girl was to see her wedding. Aang smiled happily probably being told the news as well from Roku.
The steps were long and slow, but she knew it won't be too long before they start the vows. Aang walked down the steps, and met with us on the bottom of them. "Do you give miss Toph Bei Fong to Avatar Aang?" Iroh asked with his scroll open on the podium.
"I do," he replied, took my hand and placed it in Aang's. I smiled as happily as I could, and took a quick glance at my friends seeing them for the first and perhaps last time. So I took it in. Aang whispered into my ear, "I know that you can see, and so does all of our friends," he replied and smiled. He guided me carefully up the stairs and both of his hands held my hands now as we faced each other. I looked around quickly seeing everybody, my mother and my father, Iroh, Ursa, everything so I can take it in, and try to remember. I looked back towards Aang, and he mouthed I love you!I mouthed it back as well.
"Now lets get this show on the road," Iroh replied and smiled. He must've known as well.  I looked towards my parents as well and they know, I can tell Ursa knows. Now my only question was how many people did the spirits tell to? I forgot about it and focussed my attention towards Aang. "Now who approves of Avatar Aang to marry Miss Toph Bei Fong?"
"I do, Lady Ursa, his guardian!," Ursa answered. The crowd gasped seeing the ex-queen of the Firenation that was banished nearly fifteen years ago.
The vows continued on as of a dream to them, and Sun walked up holding the wedding bands. "Avatar Aang do you promise to honor and accept the duties as a husband, and all the responsibilities that entitle to this?" Iroh asked.
Aang took the ring, and took my left hand, he replied, "I do accept the responsibilities, and I promise to love her even after the day I die, and we can be rejoined in the spirit world together. As the reincarnation of the Avatar I do accept the reincarnation of the Lady Spirit once again and always from past, present, and future!" He said and kissed her hand as he placed on the ring.
She wanted to cry hearing his honest, and true heartfelt promise. I listened around me hearing other people crying. The only thing I did was to give a shy giggle out of my system. Aang smiled, and his thumbs rubbed against my hands.
"Now Toph do you swear to honor and accept the duties as a wife, and all the responsibilities that entitle to this?" Iroh asked again.
She smiled and replied, "I do so swear accept the responsibilities as a wife. I promise to love him till after the day I die and re-meet him in the spirit world. As the reincarnation of the Lady Spirit I do Accept the reincarnation of the Avatar once again, always, from the past, present, and the future!" I said and carefully placed on the ring in this hand, and held tightly knowing it was soon time that she will be blind again.
"In the power invested in me you may kiss the bride," Iroh replied, and closed the scroll. Aang slowly raised the veil probably prolonging her sight as much as possible, and kissed her. The audience stood up and clapped seeing the world hero's, tying the forever bond of marriage. Toph opened her eyes, and once again she was in blackness, but she can still Aang kissing her, and she closed them again enjoying this moment of beginning with him, and the child they now officially share.
